The team, position & mission:
We are looking for a hands-on Expert Power BI Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in the banking & insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in business intelligence, regulatory-driven reporting, and financial analytics, with a proven track record of delivering high-value dashboards and insights for risk, finance and operational decision-making.
In this role, you will contribute to data-driven transformation initiatives, supporting key domains such as financial performance, regulatory reporting, risk management, claims and customer analytics.
Your key areas of responsibility as Power BI Data Analyst:
Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to banking & insurance business needs (finance, risk, compliance, operations).
Translate complex business requirements into meaningful KPIs, metrics and analytical visualizations (e.g., profitability, exposure, claims ratios, liquidity).
Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated tables and calculation groups for robust analytical models.
Lead the development of scalable semantic layers (star schemas, hierarchies, time intelligence) ensuring performance and maintainability.
Work closely with stakeholders (CFO teams, risk officers, actuaries, compliance teams) to deliver actionable insights and decision support.
Ensure reporting consistency, data quality, and traceability in line with governance and regulatory expectations.
Implement and manage security best practices, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and role-based access control for sensitive financial and customer data.
Monitor and optimize report performance, dataset refresh cycles and query execution.
Collaborate with data engineers and architects to integrate data from core banking/insurance systems, data warehouses and cloud platforms.
Contribute to documentation, best practices and continuous improvement of BI delivery standards.
As an ideal candidate you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Power BI Analyst / BI Consultant, ideally within banking, insurance or financial services.
Strong expertise in Power BI, including advanced data modeling, DAX, Power Query and visualization best practices.
Proficient in PowerBI Service management, including workspace management and Power BI deployment pipelines.
Solid understanding of financial and insurance data concepts (GL, IFRS reporting, risk metrics, claims lifecycle, solvency indicators).
Experience working in regulated environments with strong requirements around auditability, data governance and confidentiality.
Proficiency in SQL for data validation, exploration and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Microsoft and cloud ecosystems such as Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake or MS Fabric is a plus.
Knowledge of governance and security frameworks (RLS, Purview, access control) is highly valued.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively across IT and business teams.
Fluency in French and English (verbal & written).
