Risk Manager
Grow your career as Risk Manager in our Security, Governance & Compliance (SGC) team at Orange Business in Spain — based in Madrid, driven by impact.
The team, position & mission:
Within Security, Governance & Compliance (SGC), our mission is to enable our colleagues to operate in full alignment with regulatory and certification standards. We ensure our deliveries meet both security and business expectations, contributing directly to secure, resilient and robust operations across the organization. In this role, you will not only support internal stakeholders but also play an important part in client‑facing risk activities, which makes this position uniquely impactful compared to traditional internal‑only risk roles.
As part of the Compliance Team, you will lead and continuously evolve our Risk Management framework using a modern, AI‑driven Risk & Compliance platform. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Europe in a highly connected, expert‑driven environment known for autonomy, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
By joining us, you will play a key role in shaping a strategic capability: driving risk processes at all group levels, support critical supplier assessments, and ensuring our governance model remains modern, automated and aligned with EU regulatory developments. You will also have opportunities to innovate, deepen your expertise, and contribute to new customer-facing Risk services, adding external business value as this area grows in importance.
As Risk Management covers a wide variety of responsibilities, we expect you to be comfortable working independently and to take ownership of the delivery of this important domain. We value people who are proactive on every level, deliver exceptional results, work well with others, and make a clear impact on our clients and our business. If you love collaborating, learning, sharing your expertise, and being recognized for your achievements, you’ll fit right in with our team.
Your key areas of responsibility as Risk Manager:
Lead and operate the daily Risk Management processes across several entities.
Ensure compliance within the Risk area and alignment with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
Serve as the Risk subject-matter expert, advising teams across Europe.
Drive and deliver external-facing Risk Management outputs.
Represent Risk topics in SGC compliance activities and cross-functional initiatives.
Continuously develop our Risk & Compliance platform and related processes, ensuring increasing automation and use of AI.
Partner with stakeholders, customers and suppliers to drive engagement and clarity on risk topics.
As an ideal candidate you have:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Risk Management.
At least 3 years of experience working in a security or compliance environment.
Strong understanding of EU regulations such as DORA and NIS2, and familiarity with ISO 27001.
A strong grasp of IT, cybersecurity, cloud delivery and business risk concepts — developed either through professional experience or through relevant studies.
A commercial mindset with the ability to connect risk topics to business value.
Fluent English (C1) for cross‑European collaboration; additional languages (Spanish, French, Dutch, Swedish or Norwegian) are a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage teams across multiple European countries.
A proactive, curious mindset — comfortable taking responsibility, shaping new processes, and driving initiatives forward.
It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be:
Experience with threat modelling.
Previous work with AI-supported compliance or automation tools.
Experience from supplier or third‑party risk assessments.
