System Consultant - Storage

The team, position & mission:
The Systems Consultant – Storage is a technical role within the Compute & Storage department. The Storage team works closely with Compute (Virtualization) to deliver stable, predictable and reliable infrastructure services.
The team is primarily responsible for our storage infrastructure, across both shared and dedicated platforms. To succeed in this role, you should be a natural team player with strong initiative, flexibility and a proactive mindset. The main responsibilities in this role include monitoring, operations and maintenance of Storage systems and infrastructure, with a particular focus on backup solutions, including image backup. The team currently consists of one manager, one team lead and 10 employees across Norway and Sweden, with plans to expand to 12 employees. Compute & Storage is one department consisting of two teams: Storage and Compute. The department places strong emphasis on continuous development, ensuring that we stay aligned with the latest technologies and industry’s best practices.
The consultant will be responsible for monitoring, operations, maintenance and development of Storage services, and will contribute to both internal initiatives and customer-facing projects. The role requires strong expertise across a range of storage and backup solutions. The role may occasionally involve direct customer dialogue, such as participation in sales meetings or advisory discussions, although this is not a primary responsibility. Close collaboration with Compute (Virtualization) is important, and general knowledge of VMware is considered an advantage. All case handling is managed through ServiceNow, so experience with ServiceNow is an advantage. The consultant should be curious, eager to contribute, and motivated by helping others develop and succeed.
Your key areas of responsibility as System Consultant - Storage:
Operate and maintain Orange storage solutions.
Operate and maintain Orange backup solutions.
Implement new solutions.
Participate in internal and customer projects.
Support customer teams with incoming requests.
Documentation
Contribute to capacity management.
Provide 2nd and 3rd line support.
Act as a driving force and active contributor to the continued development of Storage solutions.
As an ideal candidate you have:
Knowledge of different storage technologies, including all or some of these: Block Storage, File Storage and Object Storage. Relevant systems include NetApp, HPE Primera/Alletra, Dell PowerScale and IBM FlashSystem.
Good knowledge of backup solutions such as Rubrik, Cohesity and TSM.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix.
Basic networking knowledge is an advantage.
Hardware competence.
A strong team orientation and enjoyment of collaborative work.
It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be:
General understanding of VMware virtualization technology.
Scripting knowledge, including Bash, PowerShell and Python.
