Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you first came into contact with Orange Business?
At the time of this interview, I am still very new to the company! My first contact with Orange Business began at the beginning of 2024, when I was initially approached. From the very beginning, the people I spoke with showed genuine interest in me and in bringing me onboard, and I was drawn to Orange Business as a global leader in digital infrastructure solutions. These things combined became one of the main reasons I chose to join Orange.
What was it that impacted your decision to join Orange Business?
As mentioned, a key factor was the authenticity and personal interest shown by the people I met during the process. I had conversations with the Director of Professional Services for the German branch of Digital Services, where I was given a great introduction to the company. We discussed the future of Digital Workplace, my potential role and how I could contribute to the team. From our very first conversation, I felt truly valued, which is what ultimately convinced me to come here.
Not having been with the company for that long, how has your experience been so far?
I began my onboarding in February and was immediately given a warm welcome! Even though our Karlsruhe entity operates largely remotely, I quickly connected with my new colleagues. Everyone has taken time out of their busy schedules to help us get to know one another, which I really appreciate.
You join us in a position as Senior IT Architect, what does that mean that you will do and work with?
I come from a background in the Modern Workplace area within the Microsoft ecosystem. In the past, I have worked on infrastructure projects that transitioned into cloud-based solutions using Microsoft 365. I am experienced in building infrastructure environments, implementing solutions and being a Trusted Advisor to clients. The advisory aspect is something I truly enjoy a lot. Since the launch of Microsoft Copilot, I have also focused on AI capabilities.
At Orange Business, my role is to contribute to the Professional Services business line. Currently, I am working on and support developing offerings and supporting presales activities, which I will continue alongside project work later as well.
What is it that you enjoy the most with what you do/what interest you the most with the technologies you use? There are 2 main things I really appreciate about working with Microsoft technologies. The first is the cloud platforms, like M365 and Azure, which are widely known and used across industries. This makes it easy to engage with clients, assessing their digital landscape, and support their cloud journeys. The second is Copilot. It is exciting to work with one of the leading tools in the AI space and to be working at the forefront together with other professionals! Almost every company is exploring how to integrate AI and unlock its value. We bring the technical know-how and work alongside our client to address their unique challenges, and I learn something new from every conversation.
What do you personally enjoy the most about working at Orange Business as a person who has recently joined?
I have felt genuinely welcomed into the company from day one, and I really enjoy the culture here. People are open, approachable and willing to connect. It feels like every door is open, and busy colleagues take the time to engage. I have also been quickly introduced to both people and processes, which has made settling in a lot easier!
