- At Carrefour, Orange Business ensures the seamless operation and evolution of the Data Platform, managing both analytical and operational data flows with a focus on reliability and performance. We handle diverse workloads, including batch and stream processing. By processing everyday terabytes of data that feed dashboards and web APIs, we empower Carrefour to leverage data-driven insights and support their business growth.
- Big Pharma International Company: Orange Business migrated a Drug Discovery Data Platform hosted on-premises from a Hadoop stack to Azure. During the migration, we improved various data flows to reduce processing time, implemented proactive data quality checks, and optimized the CI/CD pipelines. Our efforts resulted in a more efficient and reliable platform, allowing scientists to quickly and safely assess the potential of tested molecules for new drugs development.
- For Paradigm, Orange Business created a data platform and a unified set of tools for all public sector to conduct data projects, with a focus on Kubernetes and DevOps processes to enable self-service and standardization. We were able to handle many projects from all administrations, ranging from API management to data processing & analytics, as well as data science modelling

Your key areas of responsibility as a Lead Data Architect:
As a Lead Data Architect, you will engage in developing and implementing organizational cloud data strategy in line with business processes. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovative data solutions and leveraging the full potential of data technologies at scale.
- Data Platform Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of modern data platform architectures. Drive the development of robust data pipelines and storage solutions using cutting-edge technologies, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Mentorship and Team Guidance: Mentor and guide a team of Data Engineers, ensuring project success and technical excellence.
- Client Engagement and Strategy: Partner with clients to define and implement strategic, data-driven solutions.
- Industry Trends and Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and obtain relevant certifications to ensure the application of best practices in data architecture.
- Technologies: Sourcing, capturing, transforming, and preparing data using the newest technologies such as Kafka, Spark, DBT, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse, Databricks, Airflow, Elasticsearch and many more.
As an ideal candidate you have:
- A master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Engineering, Physics or any related field.
- At least 5 years professional experience with data related ICT projects.
- Data Platform Architecture: Experience with Modern Data platform architecture rollout from conception to implementation.
- Deep understanding of data modeling techniques, including relational (Kimball, normalization) and NoSQL databases.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with at least one Cloud platform (Azure, Google cloud, AWS).
- Data warehouse: Experience with Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Synapse Analytics, Redshift).
- Data Processing: Advanced SQL skills, with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries for large datasets.
- Experience with SQL orchestration tool such as DBT or Dataform.
- Programming: Experience with at least one programming language: Python, Scala, Java, etc.
- DevOps methodologies: Strong experience with CI/CD processes and tools (GIT, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
- Strong communication and presentation skills in Norwegian and English.
- You are able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience and know how to have a professional and commercial approach with customers.
It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be:
- Deployment & Orchestration: Knowledge of Docker and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Openshift, AKS, GKE...) with experience in deploying and managing containerized applications. Experience with micro-services & event-driven architecture.
- Scripting & Unix: Knowledge of Unix environments & scripting languages such as Bash, Powershell,…
- Data Modeling & Concepts: Knowledge of the Data Mesh concept & Experience with the DataVault 2.0 modeling methodology.
