Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you first came in contact with Orange Business?
I am 30 years old, originally from a small village in Pakistan but have been living in Germany for the past six years. I am now a German citizen and have decided to settle down and make it my home. The first time I came into contact with Orange was when I was in school in Pakistan. Someone brought a mobile phone from Europe, which was the first time I saw the Orange logo and interacted with Orange as a brand. The name was not familiar to be before that, but it stuck in my mind. So, when Magdalena reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding a job at Orange Business, it clicked and brought back those old memories.

Can you tell us a bit about your position as a Senior Consultant (within Digital Workplace)? What are your responsibilities, and what are you currently working on?
As a Senior Consultant specializing in Microsoft cloud, my main responsibilities are to support our clients in implementing modern workplace solutions and assist them with their digitalization efforts. Orange Business provides the opportunity to work with a diverse range of companies, from start-ups to large enterprises. Initially, I assess their environment, examining the technologies they use. Then I develop and design tailored solutions based on their infrastructure, needs and requirements. We do not use general templates; instead, we create customized solutions to enhance both productivity and security, balancing these elements even when they seem to be in competition.

I typically manage one to two bigger projects that require significant attention and work, while also handling smaller tasks to continually improve existing solutions for other clients. Currently, I am working with two large enterprises to implement modern workplace solutions and modernize their current infrastructure. Although the projects are similar in nature, there are big differences as each of them have their unique needs and requirements.

What do you enjoy the most about your work and your position?
I enjoy the endless possibilities of working with the cloud, especially with the constant emergence of new features resulting in it always being something new to learn in how to utilize them. This keeps the job exciting! Additionally, I take great pride in working with customers, understanding their needs and designing the best solution for them. I strive to always have the best understanding of them and their challenges to leverage cloud technologies to support them most effectively.

What education and background do you have to be able to do this job and what was the latest training or certification you took?
As mentioned earlier, I studied in Pakistan, where I got my bachelor's degree in information technology. I began my career as a web developer before moving to Germany, where I trained and eventually started working as a Consultant. The latest certification I obtained was the Microsoft Cybersecurity Expert. Given my focus on Microsoft technologies for modern workplace solutions, I have pursued numerous certifications within this field.

I am also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, which is beneficial when working with clients. Additionally, I use these skills in my spare time to conduct training sessions for people back home in Pakistan. I see this as a way to help others who might not have the same opportunities and exposure as we do in Europe.

What do you personally enjoy the most about working at Orange Business, the Digital Services business line?
I really appreciate being surrounded by supportive managers and colleagues with whom I can discuss ideas and perspectives. This sense of community and trust allows us to find solutions collaboratively.
