Senior Network Consultant
The team, position & mission:
The Network team in Orange Business is a cross-country team consisting of 20 members in Norway, Sweden, Germany, and The Netherlands. We are responsible for maintenance and development of our network infrastructure to ensure reliability for our customers and relevance in the market. We strive to work closely together within the team, but also with the other infrastructure departments as well as Service Delivery to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
As a part of our team, you will be working with our data center network infrastructure along with our customer premises network solutions. To provide such an extensive product portfolio, we use a wide range of vendors and technologies including Juniper EX/QFX/MX, Cisco ASA, F5 BIG-IP, Juniper Mist Wi-Fi, VMware NSX.
We always aim to become more efficient in everything we do by scripting and automating repetitive tasks using Ansible, Python, Perl amongst others.
In this role, being self-driven, pragmatic and service minded are considered highly important personality traits and skills.
Your key areas of responsibility as a Senior Network Consultant:
- Incident Management: Prioritize, diagnose, and resolve incidents following established procedures.
- Problem Management: Take ownership of problem resolution, recommend solutions, and implement changes as needed.
- Change Management: Review and implement customer change requests following our best practices.
- Maintenance: Plan, assess, and execute maintenance tasks on our production platform.
- Projects: Independently or as part of a small team, carry out small projects across all phases.
- Architecture: Assist in system designs, specifications, and overall network architecture.
As an ideal candidate you have:
- 5 years or more experience from working in a data-center network environment.
- Experience of working with Linux operating systems.
- Have worked in a company using the ITIL framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willingness and possibility to get security clearance (if not already) as per the Norwegian Security Act (sikkerhetsloven).
It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be experience with the following:
- Network automation using Ansible
- F5 BIG-IP load balancing services
- Cisco ASA firewall systems
- Juniper switches and routers
- Software Defined Networking, VMware NSX
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian
