The team, position & mission:

Orange Business is looking for a Virtualization Engineer to join our Virtualization team! The virtualization team is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing our virtualization infrastructure, mainly based on VMware technologies. Both shared and customer owned platforms are a part of this responsibility.

As a Virtualization Engineer in the Virtualization department, you will participate in the day-to-day operation of our virtualization infrastructure and participate in internal and customer driven projects. You will handle the monitoring, maintenance, optimization and troubleshooting of the infrastructure. You will work with the VMware Cloud Foundation stack, including vSphere (ESXi), vSAN, and NSX-T.

The Virtualization team works closely together in a team effort to fulfill our responsibilities. Your key areas of responsibility as Virtualization Engineer:

• Resolve virtualization related incidents with clear ownership and structured execution

• Plan and implement changes in accordance with change management processes

• Plan and execute maintenance activities on production virtualization platforms

• Support lifecycle management, standardization and automation of virtualization services

• Contribute virtualization expertise to projects and continuous improvement initiatives

• Deliver 3rd-line IT infrastructure support for complex virtualization issues.

As an ideal candidate you have:

• Knowledge in VMware systems on an operational level (vSphere, vSAN)

• Experience with cloud technologies like VMware vCloud Director and/or VMware Cloud Foundation stack

• Working knowledge of administration tools like vRealize LogInsight, Operations Manager etc

• Skills to do troubleshooting performance and/or stability issues

• Basic knowledge in at least one of the following OS: Windows; Linux: Redhat, or other distribution systems

• Experience with scripting, automation and working with IAC is a plus
